Stray Kids and Jimin have just clinched the top two positions on the Billboard Artist 100! On the August 3, 2024 chart, the two K-pop juggernauts sprinkled the tally with some South Korean spice, re-entering the No. 1 and No. 2 spots. The last time this happened was in October 2020, with BLACKPINK and BTS taking over the first two places on the Billboard Artist 100.
The Artist 100 blends album and track sales, radio airplay, and streaming to rank artist popularity weekly. Stray Kids have now spent four total weeks at No. 1 on the Artist 100, thanks to their new mini-album “ATE,” which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, and their exciting crossover with “Deadpool & Wolverine,” contributing with the song “Slash” for the soundtrack.

This is just the second time since the Artist 100 began in 2014 that the top two spots are ruled by K-pop acts.… pic.twitter.com/guwq9pmR74

Similarly, Jimin re-entered the chart at No. 2, powered by his mini-album “Muse,” which also opened at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 with 96,000 units. Outside of BTS, Jimin has previously spent a week at No. 1 as a solo artist. It’s clear that even serving his country in the military, Jimin’s name remains one of the most important ones when it comes to solo K-pop acts.
