Rob Jobson said in his new book on the biography of the Princess of Wales that Prince William ‘banned’ Meghan Markle from wearing Princess Diana‘s jewels, which certainly did not please the Duke of Sussex, starting with his family problems.
“William, still concerned by the match, even sought assurances from Queen Elizabeth II that his brother’s bride-to-be would not wear any jewelry in the collection once worn by Diana“, said Jobson, assuring that the Prince of Wales felt that the relationship of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex was going too fast.
For Prince Harry, Prince William’s request was an insult, as he felt it was unfair that his future wife, Meghan Markle, could not wear her late mother’s jewelry as she became part of the family when “his wife Catherine had been allowed to wear some, which would be due to her rank“.
Apparently the Duchess of Sussex was never liked by the heir, as he did not consider her worthy of the position she would hold when marrying the Prince, which offended his younger brother, who later expressed in his memoir ‘Spare‘, the discrimination suffered by his wife from the royal family.
