King Charles III who ruled the Duchy of Cornwall for a couple of decades had the great tradition of relieving what he paid in taxes every year. However, since Prince William inherited it, he decided to break the 30-year-old tradition of not reveling this kind of information.

The Duchy of Cornwall estate worth over $1 billion when King Charles III ascended to the throne in September 2022. Ultimately, the Prince of Wales took a different approach from his father when it came to disclosing finances to the public.

Prince Willima didn’t want to disclose how much he paid in taxes in his first full year as the heir to the British throne. This becomes in a stark contrast to the King, who always wanted to unveil how much he paid each since 1993.

King Charles III shared that he paid more than $6.4 million in taxes from the Duchy of Cornwall for the year ending in 2021 and $7.5 million the following fiscal year. The royal followers expects that Prince William paid a higher price, but his reasons why not revealing it are uncertain yet.
