Prince William gave an unexpected modern twist to his new 700-year-old royal role

According to Alastair Martin, outgoing secretary and custodian of the records, Prince William gave a modern and unexpected twist to a new property that was inherited to him for his new royal role with the intention of making things quicker and more practical on the 700-year-old estate.

The heir, after the death of his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, acquired the title of Prince of Wales and in turn also received the charge of the ‘Duchy of Cornwall‘, and although his father, King Charles III, who was previously in charge of the duchy, left everything in perfect condition, his firstborn wanted to implement some modern changes.

Martin has had the opportunity to meet them both and said that although they share some similarities in terms of work, each one does things in his own way: “His Royal Highness, the 24th duke, would telephone me. His Royal Highness, the 25th Duke, will WhatsApp me“.

King Charles III, during his years as Prince of Wales, never communicated with the Duchy of Cornwall through a message and always used the landline; however, for Prince William is something very old and has decided that whenever they need something they write to Whatsapp as that will be the only channel of direct communication with him.
