According to recent reports, it has been confirmed that Prince William has made a personal decision, refusing to publicly reveal how much tax he pays, breaking with the tradition of King Charles III, who was known for his impeccable work during his years as Prince of Wales.
After holding the title of Prince of Wales, the heir to the throne will also inherit the property of the Duchy of Cornwall, from where he can obtain annual profits for his charitable events or personal expenses, and according to the latest annual report published on Wednesday, this year’s earnings were 23.6 million pounds.
King Charles III, when he served as Prince of Wales, annually published a full breakdown of household expenses and taxes owed; however, his firstborn has refused to share that information now that he holds the title, leaving many royal supporters upset.
According to the Daily Telegraph, Kesington Palace assured that the prince was paying the proper income taxes and that his decision should be respected as it is what Prince William wants despite putting an end to the praised tradition started by his father.
