In a recent conversation for the documentary ‘Tabloids On Trial‘, Prince Harry surprisingly claimed that his legal battle against the British press contributed in large part to his rift with the royal family, adding to the pre-existing problem between the Duke of Sussex and the British monarchy.
When the youngest son of King Charles III was asked if his relentless fight against the British media affected his relationship with his relatives, he said, “You know, that’s a hard question to answer because anything I say about my family results in a torrent of abuse from the press“.
He continued, “For me, the mission continues, but it has, it has, yes. It’s caused, yeah, as you say, part of a rift“. He also reaffirmed that he would like to have the support of his loved ones during this media conflict: “I’ve made it very clear that this is something that needs to be done. It would be nice if we, you know, did it as a family“.
Prince Harry has won a major lawsuit against the British media because, according to the judge, the tabloids had conducted an extensive wiretap that violated the privacy of the Duke of Sussex. At the end of the trial, he said, “To go in there and come out and have the judge rule in our favor was obviously huge“.
