During the last hours, Kim Taehyung aka V of BTS have been on a blast just for sharing a post on his personal Instagram account. He was eating Mac’Donalds french potatoes and he decided to share it because there were only potatoes left, a cute reference to the 7 members of BTS.
But for his surprise, some ARMYs did not see it that way, they critized the idol for promoting Mc’Donalds, a company that according to the users, is supporting the Palestinian Genocide by giving free meals to israeli soldiers while they fight in Gaza.
An Army shared a hearthbreaking post, in one side you can see a palestinian BTS fan with her house completely destroyed by the israeli attacks against Gaza, she was only able to save V’s photocards, on the other side V was eating in Mc’Donalds. Of course the debate is heat in social media, some defending Taehyung and others showing their dissapointment.
But, Is BTS’ V really supporting the Palestinian conflict by posting a pic eating Mc’Donalds? Well we do not know the answer, but he is a champion of world peace, constantly sharing hopeful messages encouraging ARMY to fight for a better and respectful world.
So V does not support wars, although he didn’t say anything explicitly about a ceasefire or about Palestine. Big companies like Mc’Donalds are hard not to consume, they monopolize the markets and, even indirectly, many people unwittingly consume it, So let’s not be hypocritical, the real enemies are the politicians.
