During a recent interview with W Korea, BTS‘ member Jin broke his silence and talked about what he suffered during mandatory military service since the day he enlisted on December 13th, 2022, shocking all his fans with the extreme weather conditions he faced.
The idol completed a five-week training camp in Yeoncheon before being assigned as an assistant drill instructor in the 5th Infantry Division. During this, the singer not only worked hard on his training but also endured intense winter and summer seasons that he described as “beyond imagination“.
Jin revealed that when he enlisted, “My friend captured the weather app on the day he enlisted, and the temperature that day felt like -30°C (laughs)“. Then he confessed that “people who had been in the unit longer than me said, ‘The summer weather is also beyond imagination’, I thought, ‘No way’, but it really was hot in the summer“.

Although the BTS member was warned by his companions about the next extreme season, he revealed, “I’m quite heat-resistant, so it wasn’t unbearable“, but he also expressed his surprise at the high temperature of that time as he said, “I remember it getting up to around 40°C“.
