The renowned singer Taylor Swift continues to make history, this time by breaking an important Billboard record, which was held by Whitney Houston for almost 40 years, and that seemed impossible to overcome; however, the singer of ‘Blank Space’, with the help of her fans, made it happen.
The pop star seems to have no shortage of success, as her album ‘The Tortured Poet’s Department‘ reached its 12th week at number one on the Billboard 200, which was enough to surpass the record of the legendary singer, who since 1987 with her homonym album ‘Whitney‘ held the record for 11 consecutive weeks at number one.
While it is true that this is a pretty amazing record, it was expected that Taylor Swift would soon surpass these historic figures since her previous projects, ‘1989‘ and ‘Fearless‘, reached 11 weeks on the Billboard chart, being on par with Whitney Houston’s achievement.
Currently, the pop star is arguably the solo artist with the most weeks at the top of the chart, surpassing even Elvis Presley by 14 weeks. Without a doubt, Swift has broken precedents and has set great records that will go down in music history and will hardly be surpassed.
