It has been revealed that Disney Pixar‘s new production ‘Inside Out 2‘ has been so successful that it finally surpasses ‘Super Mario Bros.‘ at the worldwide box office and becomes the second most successful animated film in history, setting a new record.
As reported by Collider, the animated sequel has grossed a total of $1.37 billion worldwide since its theatrical release, surpassing the record of ‘Super Mario Bros. The Movie’, which managed to generate a global total of $1.36 billion during its cinema debut.
The surprising success of ‘Inside Out 2’ quickly made it Pixar’s highest-grossing animated film ever, far surpassing ‘The Incredibles 2’; also, the new production is currently the highest-grossing film of the year globally.

‘Frozen 2‘ is the only movie that currently tops the list of the highest grossing animated films at the worldwide box office since during its release it managed to collect $1.45 billion, but it is expected that during the last few weeks ‘Inside Out 2’ can dethrone it from the list, surpassing that historical record.
