Eminem and Taylor Swift are gearing up for an epic chart showdown on the Billboard 200. With Taylor’s “The Tortured Poets Department” reigning supreme for 12 weeks, it’s now Eminem’s turn to challenge her dominance with his album, “The Death of Slim Shady.”

Taylor Swift’s album has been untouchable, beating competitors like Zach Bryan and Billie Eilish. But Eminem, one of the top-selling solo artists ever, might be able to change things. The rap icon is currently aiming for an 11th number-one album in the United States, a streak he has held since 2000.

Although the physical album drops in September, the digital editions and streaming success might just be enough for “The Death of Slim Shady” to have a strong start. “Houdini” was able to top at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100, and most album tracks are making moves on Spotify.

Yet, Taylor Swift fans should not lose all hope, as “Tortured Poets Department” could get a record if it holds the spot for another week. It might tie Stevie Wonder’s historic 13-week run with “Songs in the Key of Life.” Let’s see what the numbers say: will Eminem top the charts or will Taylor Swift continue her reign?
