Buckingham Palace’s latest move indicates that King Charles III is still battling with his unspecified form of cancer. The king is slowly resuming all of his royal duties. However, he might be taking a lighter burden during his next major royal tour.
Queen Camilla Parker and King Charles III are set to embark on a new royal tour, visiting Australia and Samoa in October. It was also reported that the monarch of the United Kingdom will attend the Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting in Samoa’s capital city, Apia.
This tour will be King Charles III’s first major overseas visit since he started his cancer treatment. However, the King will omit a visit to New Zealand, the island nation located to the southeast of Australia. A Buckingham Palace spokesperson explained why the King won’t extend the tour for more days.
“The King’s doctors have advised that such an extended program should be avoided at this time, to prioritize His Majesty’s continued recovery. In close consultation with the Australian and New Zealand Prime Ministers, and with due regard for the pressures of time and logistics, it has therefore been agreed to limit the visit to Samoa and Australia only.”
