BLACKPINK’s Lisa turned heads with the release of her new comeback single, “Rockstar.” The now-popular song that samples “New Person, Same Old Mistakes,” was highly praised because of the fresh sound inside the Kpop industry. However, she was accused of plagiarism because of the music video.
The “Rockstar” music video filmed in her hometown, Thailand, quickly surpassed 100 million views on YouTube. The song has garnered a greater audience; this was the perfect time for Gabriel Moses, a video director and producer, to attack Lisa harshly.
Moses compared a scene from Travis Scott’s “FE!N” music video, which he directed to a scene from Lisa’s “Rockstar” music video. He even stated that Lisa’s team contacted his editor for the scene, but he completely rejected the petition.
“They (Lisa’s team) contacted my editor for this scene. My editor said ‘no,’ but they went ahead and made it anyway.”
Ultimately, Gabriel Moses requested an official statement from Lisa’s team by the end of this month to clear the air. Lisa’s team hasn’t issued an official response to the harsh accusations and the controversy might soar to a new level.
