PSY concerned the K-Netizens because of his unexpected weight loss. However, the idol didn’t want to address the controversy at first, until it became a major topic on social media and people were accusing him of undergoing medical procedures.
The backlash received was huge for PSY, who just shared a video enjoying a hearty meal of gukbap, pork rice soup. Several K-Netizens also joked saying that Kpop artists have gained weight, but for PSY, the standards are the opposite.
On July 14, KST, the idol apologized to his fans and followers after facing a strong backlash over his weight loss. The idol posted a video of himself accompanied by a sincere message about the feedback he received regarding his appearance.
“After receiving harsh criticism for losing weight, and being told by a young man in Subang that I looked thin, and hearing from the audience at Daegu 1st Arena that I looked thin too, I devoured boiled pork with salted shrimp, kimchi, and peppers, mixing them with green onion and seasoning in a rage, until I couldn’t tell if it was broth or tears. I will get a grip.”
