Kate Middleton’s surprise appearance at the June Trooping the Color event brought hope to the royal followers. They stated she might start appearing frequently at royal events, but they were wrong, as the Princess already announced her absence from a staple royal event today.
The annual event occurs at the Guards Polo Club in Windsor, Berkshire. The royal followers are used to watch Kate Middleton as one of the spectators. However, this year, Prince William must shine on his own during the important event.
The importance of the event relies on the charity of the Royal Polo Cup. The charities chosen relate to issues that the Prince and Princess of Wales are passionate about, like emergency services, mental health, early years, conservation, and the armed forces. A Kensington Palace spokesperson also addressed the importance of the Prince’s attendance:
“Each year the Polo match raises a million pounds for deserving charities and that is the driver of why The Prince of Wales takes part. To date, The Prince playing Polo has raised an incredible 13 million pounds for charities that The Prince and Princess support. He’s hopeful for a win!”
