The premiere of Netflix‘s hit series, Heartstopper, is around the corner! And guess what? All LGBTQI people know it and are here for it. But as the show makes its dazzling comeback to the small screen, some homophones can’t help but make confusing questions now that June, known as Pride Month, is over.
What question, you ask? Well, that old one that some straight folks gripe about not having their own month to celebrate: “Wasn’t the gay month over?” Although, in this case, the question comes with some hilarious grammar twists and punctuation mistakes. Posted on an Instagram post about Heartstopper, a possibly homophobic user commented on the series:
“Didn’t the gay month was over . ? “
Yes, you read that right! The syntax and punctuation combo are just too funny to take this comment seriously. So, fortunately, Heartstopper fans are already making a meme out of it, with one X user saying “This is my favorite song ‘Didn’t the gay month was over .?” Another user pointed out “It’s the ‘.?’ for me.“

While we make fun of this memorable comment, don’t forget to watch Heartstopper season 3, premiering on October 3, 2024. A must-watch, gay month or not!
