According to British royal expert Hilary Fordwich, Prince Harry could still be accepted back into the royal family, but it won’t be easy as his older brother Prince William is openly opposed to taking him back, but earning the Prince of Wales’s pardon isn’t the only way to return.
“If anyone will relent, it would be King Charles III, whom, of course, Prince William won’t challenge, who still misses his ‘darling boy’ and would like to see more of Prince Harry“, Fordwich said, explaining that it’s better for the Duke of Sussex to seek an alliance with his father before making peace with his older brother.
In addition, the king’s former royal butler, Grant Harrold, assured the New York Post, “The only way I see this happening is a public statement from Harry, where you come out and say that you were in a bad space and that [his memoir ‘Spare’] was a mistake“, so this would be the only option if Prince Harry wants to return home.
After the butler’s statement, Fordwich said, “most unlikely to ever release any public apology” especially since the Duke knows that this will not be enough for Prince William, and the expert added, “William is the most unlikely royal to ever forgive Harry for all his despicable indiscretions“.
