Okay, BLINKs and Lilies, time to wave your lightstick! That’s because BLACKPINK’s Lisa Lisa will join the Global Citizen Festival lineup in New York’s Central Park for her first solo performance at a festival. The Thai idol will share the stage with other headliners, including Post Malone, Doja Cat, Jelly Roll, and Rauw Alejandro on September 28.
This year, the festival is aiming to attract younger fans and gain a more international audience, but they have been working with major artists for a long time. Previously, they partnered with Beyoncé and Jay-Z to rally support for its initiatives. Moreover, CEO Hugh Evans emphasized the urgent need for support across generations to tackle pressing global issues, including extreme poverty.
Tickets to the festival are free but require attendees to take actions to “defeat poverty, defend the planet, and demand equity” on the nonprofit’s website. With this, the BLACKPINK member marks her first solo performance in the United States, continuing a hot successful streak with her projects.
