BLACKPINK’s Lisa has been praised for her unwavering work with the Thai community over the last few years. The idol has made her community visible and she is proud to continue her work in the “Rockstar” music video. However, the video was even more inclusive than the final cut shown to the general public.
The “Rockstar” music video showed all kinds of diversity, and the fans, better known as BLINKS, were over the moon with this kind of exposure. The idol also cast 70 people who are “male, female or LGBTQ+” for the music video.
In the behind-the-scenes video, there were many drag queens and other “unique” people who weren’t shown in the final cut of the music video. One of the staff members explained that the scene was giving all of Thailand, their flavors, and everything, he explained that he loved the representation.
Ultimately, BLACKPINK’s Lisa has extended her solidarity with all kinds of communities through her art and exposure. She included bikers, LGBTQ+, tattoo artists, boxers, traditional Thai makeup, and 100 Thai dancers in the music video.
