Lady Gaga is set to dazzle audiences in Todd Phillips’ highly anticipated sequel, “Joker: Folie À Deux.” and guess what? Casting director Francine Maisler, honored at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, was all about spilling the tea about Lady Gaga’s performance. She is going to blow our minds!

The casting director said that, even though she initially did not suggest Gaga for the role of Harley Quinn, she was gagged by her ability to keep up with Joaquin Phoenix.

“Man, she’s good. Joaquin blows your mind, but that she could keep up with him, and be real — and not just wiped off the screen by what that role is and what the performance is — shows she’s good.”

Reflecting on her career, Maisler also discussed the challenges of casting, emphasizing the importance of talent over popularity. But it looks like Gaga’s performance in “Joker: Folie À Deux” is the perfect mix of an A-list star with incredible talent. “Casting is 90% of what makes a good film,” Maisler stated, honoring the vision of different directors. This time, that 90% was secured with Gaga.

Now, mark your calendars: “Joker: Folie À Deux” is scheduled to premiere on October 4 as a musical romantic misadventure.
