King Charles III is widely popular because of the radical changes he applied to the British monarchy, from reducing the number of members of the monarchy to dropping his support towards the popular pigeon racing. Ultimately, the King has upset the pigeon racing community because of his unexpected decision.
The monarch of the United Kingdom has ended royal patronage for pigeon racing, a sport that his mother, the late Queen Elizabeth II took part in enthusiastically. The King declined to take on two famous patronages previously held by Queen Elizabeth II, the Royal Pigeon Racing Association, the sport’s governing body in the UK, and the country’s premier club, the National Flying Club.
On top of that, King Charles III ultimately ended his family’s participation in the sport entirely and shut the royal pigeon loft at his Sandringham estate. The new measures applied to the pigeon racing are part of King Charles III’s animal protection.
The King has shown his profound interest in protecting the animals and nature itself, he wants to be recognized as a King who made radical changes for the good even if some of the royal followers don’t always agree with him.
