The former wife of the Duke of York, Sarah Ferguson, took to social media to share some emotional words on July 1st, in honor of Princess Diana, who would have turned 63 years old that same day and with whom she had a very close relationship.
The Duchess of York and the late Princess of Wales were close friends, so with a photograph of the two of them together on the balcony of Buckingham Palace, Ferguson wrote, “Happy birthday to my dear friend, Diana. You were a pillar of light and love“.
Princess Diana has always been considered a person who left an indelible mark in the lives of those who had the joy of meeting with her, and it is clear that Sarah Ferguson was one. In her message, she added, “What a legacy you have left behind. I will forever remember our laughter and the kindred, kind spirit I found in you. I am sure you are watching over us always“.
The Duchess of York, who spoke of her bond with the princess to PEOPLE; “We were best friends from when she was 14 and I was 15“, ended her post by writing “Rest in peace, my friend“, which greatly touched all the followers of the royal who appreciated the kind words on this important day.
