Prince Harry is once again the talk of the town for all the wrong reasons. It was recently reported that the Prince is going to be the recipient of Pat Tillman’s annual award. The U.S. Soldier and former NFL star, Pat Tillman, was killed by friendly fire in Afghanistan in 2004, and since then, he has been remembered kindly by Americans.
Pat Tillman’s mother, Mary Tillman, had a convo with the Daily Mail about the Duke of Sussex being the recipient of her son’s award. She expressed her discontent by stating she was completely shocked because she wasn’t consulted on the choice.
“I am shocked as to why they would select such a controversial and divisive individual to receive the award. Some recipients are far more fitting. Individuals are working in the veteran community that are doing tremendous things to assist veterans.”
Prince Harry is slated to be given the award at next month’s ESPY Awards ceremony for his help in founding the Invictus Games. However, Mary Tillman strongly believes Prince Harry has privileges and connections, and individuals without money and resources should be recognized.
