Let’s take a stroll down memory lane to 2016 when Prince William made history as the first royal to grace the cover of an LGBTQ+ magazine—talk about a good way to wrap up Pride Month, royal style. At that moment, the then-Duke of Cambridge welcomed LGBTQ+ representatives to Kensington Palace. He engaged in heartfelt conversations about bullying and its impact on mental health.
Post-meeting, the now father of three shared a powerful message to the world:
“No one should be bullied for their sexuality or any other reason and no one should have to put up with the kind of hate that these young people have endured in their lives.”
Then, the Prince went on to pose for Attitude Magazine, becoming the first ever royal to appear in an LGBTQ+ magazine. But he was not just looking pretty for the photos, oh no! He prompted people who are facing bullying to seek help. He then reminded people to always be proud of who they are and let readers and LGBTQ+ individuals know they’re not alone.
It’s Pride month!!! 🌈 🌈🌈
I love when Prince William was on the cover of Attitude Magazine where he spoke out against homophobic bullying! We love our Royals standing up for the LGBTQIA+ community! pic.twitter.com/GTRvkYXEGf
