SEVENTEEN just marked history in the K-pop world! The 13-member boy band was the first group to smash the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury Festival. The “MAESTRO” singers took the stage by storm this June 28th at Worthy Farm, dazzling a massive crowd, waving flags, and capturing hearts with their heartfelt speeches.
Although the set was only available to UK viewers, SEVENTEEN still lit up social media. Carats (That’s the name SEVENTEEN fans wear proudly) shared clips of the group’s emotional moments. The best one? That has to be Woozi‘s opening speech, thanking the concertgoers for attending their show and highlighting their historic record as the first-ever K-pop group to perform there:
“We still can’t believe that we are here to perform as the first K-Pop group at the festival, thank you so much!”
SEVENTEEN’s setlist was packed with their hottest hits, kicking off with bops like “Hot” and “Rock With You.” Towards the end of their show, they performed “Headliner,” a perfect title for the occasion. Finally, they closed their bombastic performance with their early hit “Very Nice.”
The 2024 Glastonbury Festival opened on June 26, promising a music-packed weekend. The A-list names include Dua Lipa, Coldplay, SZA, and of course SEVENTEEN. The group has already marked a milestone for a K-pop act and has set the bar high for future South Korean performers at the festival.
