King Charles III and Queen Camilla Parker continued to give their all to the British crown after they hosted a state banquet at Buckingham Palace. The celebration relies on the honor of Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako of Japan. However, the banquet wasn’t the star,t of the night but King Charles III’s new diamond jewel was.
The banquet laid out the royal collection’s historic gold plate, crystal glassware, and candelabras. The Queen even wanted to make a good impression by wearing a collection of the late Queen Elizabeth II’s historic jewels. On top of that, the Queen also wore a diamond-encrusted portrait of King Charles III mounted on a blue silk ribbon.
The new King Charles III’s diamond jewels were shown for the first time in public during this event. They are also known as the Royal Family Order. The new order features a portrait of Charles painted by Elizabeth Meek, based on a photograph taken in 2023 by Hugo Burnand.
The Royal Family Orders are presented to female members of the royal family by the current monarch of the United Kingdom and are always worn for state occasions for the bearer’s lifetime. So far, Queen Camilla Parker has been the only one wearing King Charles III’s order.
