The badge was designed by Elizabeth Meek, and it’s based on a 2023 photograph taken by Hugo Burnand. The picture showcases King Charles lll in his Admiral of the Fleet uniform and it’s adorned in diamond-set white and yellow gold, complemented by a gold and enamel Tudor crown. Queen Camilla Parker wore this new accessory on her blue sash, positioned just above the Family Order of Queen Elizabeth, which she’s proudly shown since 2007.
“The tradition of commissioning a Family Order, a badge worn by female members of the royal family personally bestowed by the sovereign, was established by King George IV over 200 ago. Family Orders have since been instituted by Queen Victoria, King Edward VII, King George V, King George VI and Queen Elizabeth II,” Buckingham Palace said.
The Queen Elizabeth’s Family Order features a portrait of the late monarch on a yellow ribbon. This Family Order honor is given by the reigning monarch to female royals who have been working members of the royal family for several years. With this, Camilla proves she’s one royal member to keep your eyes on, thanks to her hard work and dedication.
