With the unveiling of new artwork by artist Dan Llywelyn Hall, it has become clear that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been portrayed as members of the historical royal family, which has caught the attention of royal supporters.
Both the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were portrayed by a character with an important and similar history to their own; in Meghan Markle’s case, his work is titled ‘Returning White Queen‘ as she was depicted as Dame Elizabeth Grey, Queen of England by marriage in 1464, while Prince Harry was portrayed as Bonnie Prince Charlie.
Dan Llywelyn Hall explained the reason for each of his works and the similarities that led him to portray the Sussexes with each of these characters: “In Harry’s case, I have entered the story before he met Meghan the young party-goer with his future very much in the balance, a bit like the Bonnie Prince I have likened him to“.
He then added, “I thought putting Meghan in the role of the White Queen, who was a Queen Consort and possibly the most influential ‘outsider’ in Royal history, might have a fine irony to it and not necessarily beyond the realms of reality“, referring to the problems the duchess has faced with the royal family since her arrival.
