After his departure from the British monarchy, Prince Harry has shared more significant moments of his life inside the royalty, such as the time he spoke about his ‘awkward’ first meeting with Camilla Parker, the current Queen Consort, in his controversial memoir book ‘Spare‘.
Among the younger sons of King Charles III‘s statements in this publication, he talked about his first thought about the Queen: “I recall wondering, right before the tea, if she’d be mean to me, if she’d be like all the wicked stepmothers in the storybooks“.
However, Prince Harry seemed to conclude that this would be more like an unconfortable doctor’s visit than a fairytale story, for which he wrote, “Just like getting an injection. Close your eyes even before you know it” on one of the pages of his book.
He also said, “I wasn’t her biggest hurdle. In other words, I wasn’t the heir“, maybe referring to, according to his own words, his “spare” role in the British royal family, making him less important than his older brother, Prince William.
