Prince William was spotted in Germany yesterday, June 20th, attending the high-stakes Euros match between England and Denmark. This major sports attendance was notably made without his wife, Princess Kate Middleton. It also takes place as the Prince of Wales faces scrutiny for opting out of the third day of Royal Ascot, the United Kingdom’s biggest horse racing event.

The Prince was also seen singing “God Save The King” during the national anthem, demonstrating his support for the England team. The cameras captured him when he was clapping energetically as England rallied on the sports field. He decided to attend the game alone, just one day before his 42nd birthday, sparking questions about Kate Middleton. 

The reason? The Princess of Wales continues her recovery after revealing her cancer diagnosis earlier this year. The mother of three revealed she had made “good progress” and that she would attend some events this summer. She later participated in Trooping the Color, marking her first public outing in months. However, she also clarified she’s far from making an official royal return:

“I’m looking forward to attending The King’s Birthday Parade this weekend with my family and hope to join a few public engagements over the summer, but equally knowing I am not out of the woods yet, she said on an official social media statement.”

This solo appearance by Prince William has made royal followers ask questions that already have an answer: Kate Middleton might join the royal family in some events, but that does not mean she is fully recovered.
