“Inside Out 2” is garnering attention from the public because of the great plot of the movie. However, is the movie appropriate for youngsters? Here are the key points to decide on the most popular movie this year, which was released on June 14.
The sequel to the 2015 film follows a now-teenage Riley as she starts puberty and experiences four brand new emotions, Anxiety, Envy, Embarassament, and Ennui, explained as the French word for “boredom.”
The movie has great elements in explaining how the new emotions try to take over Riley’s personality and dominate her life. Though the movie is targeted toward children, there might be some topics confusing for kids as they are being exposed to new and complex emotions.
The movie addresses puberty at its finest, it perfectly explains how Riley turns into a teenager with some physical and mental changes. Anxiety is the main antagonist throughout the movie as she takes over at the helm of Riley’s feelings by banishing Joy and her colleagues.
On top of that, after Riley experiences an anxiety attack, the moral of the story is one of the purest actions ever, all of the emotions hug each other to make people understand it’s okay to search for help and it’s okay not to be okay. The movie reached its main goal of teaching children adequately about these emotions once they grow up.
