King Felipe VI of Spain has emerged more popular than any politician in the country! That’s according to a recent poll. The monarch has strived to distance the royalty from previous scandals involving his dad, Juan Carlos. And now, he’s achieved an approval rating of 6.6 out of 10, making King Felipe Vl a leader above political party leaders.
But surprises don’t stop there! The King’s eldest daughter, Princess Leonor, matched dad’s popularity with a 6.6 approval rating. The poll, made by IMOP Insights for the online newspaper El Confidencia, highlights a stark contrast with King Juan Carlos, who scored a poor 2.9 amid investigations for alleged financial misconduct.
It looks like the favorable rating derives from King Felipe IV’s following decisions: removing Juan Carlos from the royal payroll, and denying any financial inheritance linked to his father’s offshore accounts. Additionally, he took away his sister Cristina’s duchess title following her tax fraud trial, although she was acquitted.
"With 60% of Spaniards in favor of the monarchy, King Felipe VI still enjoys strong popularity as shown in these photos published by @CasaReal while he visited the Basilica of Jesús de Medinaceli." https://t.co/0hflOlAwCG

This poll underscores King Felipe IV’s good public perception, as he navigates the monarchy’s future. While the Spanish royal family has had its fair share of controversies and there’s still a divided national sentiment toward them, good progress has been made and things seem to be pointing in the right direction.
