in an unexpected turn of events, King Charles lll is reportedly less than thrilled with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet’s American accents. Given the fact that their parents, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, decided to cut things off with the royal family and moved to Montecito, California, it’s no surprise the young royals have picked up the local speech.
Despite the distance and the ongoing royal rift, King Charles lll still considers the Sussex kids as members of the British royal family. The monarch was expecting they would speak with British accents, ideally the Queen‘s English. However, the chances of the little royal pair having this lingo are slim, especially considering their current home and their American mother, Meghan Markle.
It looks like the Dutchess of Sussex‘s influence is inescapable: her push to relocate to California was partly to distance her family from royal life in the UK. This was done to minimize the monarchy’s impact on her children, which underscores her desire for her children to be American, not royal.

While King Charles lll hopes his two grandchildren will embrace their regal heritage, Prince Harry seems to be caught in the midst of it all. He respects his wife’s stance but also wishes his children could connect more with their family. However, the efforts might just be in vain, with Meghan Markle protecting the children and shielding them from the media and the monarchy.
