BLACKPINK’s Jennie seems to shade YG Entertainment in a new snippet

BLACKPINK‘s Jennie has been all about making her dazzling solo journey! The K-pop diva has become a triple threat, making moves in music, acting, and fashion. This time, the “You & Me” singer joined forces with Beats by Dr.Dre, promoting the brand’s earphones in a newly shared TikTok.

The TikTok was accompanied by a snippet of what seems to be Jennie’s new track. The song, which boosts a heavy hip-hop vibe, has some strong lyrical content. Could the song be aimed at YG Entertainment? Her words detail how she was “taken for granted” and mistreated to later “woman up” and be free. Check out the lyrics here:

“Taken for granted / Taken for hostage / Carried the Baggage / Carried the past us / As luck would have it / Future was written / They didn’t plan for women to woman up.”

Whispers on the Internet say the song is clearly aimed towards Jennie’s label, YG Entertainment. While she (along with the other BLACKPINK members) renewed their contracts for group activities in this company, their solo endeavors have nothing to do with YG. Lisa, Jennie, and Jisoo established their own agencies, and Rosé decided to sign with “THE BLACK LABEL.”
