During the proclamation of King Felipe VI, Queen Letizia was seen still unwell and even had to sit down, revealing during her last event her inability to stand for long periods of time, which has alerted all the loyal followers of the Spanish royalty who fear for the monarch’s health.
Letizia had previously announced that she had had a domestic accident and, as a consequence, would have to change her high heels for lower and more comfortable ones while recovering from the injury, which was not expected to last more than a few days as it was believed to be minor.
However, recently, RTVE mentioned, “We have seen Queen Letizia uncomfortable, sitting at some point and leaning“. This would be a clear symptom of her severe pain from the injury to her foot; even King Felipe turned to ask her about her pain, as the suffering she was dealing with was noticeable.

As soon as they entered the hall for the presentation of decorations, Letizia looked for a place to sit. Being the only one who was not standing, the queen, despite her injury, was present at the event and had fulfilled all her royal duties without missing any, regardless of whether they were inside or outside her country, demonstrating her strength and commitment.
