Australian states compete for Queen Camilla Parker and King Charles lll’s visit

While King Charles III and Queen Camilla prepare for their Australia tour in October, states and territories are not chilling so much with their visit! They’re throwing their hats in the ring, hoping to host the royal couple in their area. The reason? Besides their regal presence, it also implies a tourism boost and a financial injection for local economies.

But hold up, the King and the Queen are not visiting every city! Considering King Charles lll’s health, Giselle Bastin, a noted royal expert, predicts a brief six-day tour with three events. This marks a significant scale-down from the monarchy’s lengthy tours of the 1950s. Not to mention, the last time Australia saw a royal family member was in 2011, with Queen Elizabeth’s ll visit.

“The tours have become much shorter since the 50s. While he’s very keen on all the states and territories … it’ll be whichever state has put in the best case for why they need to be visited.”

Among the offerings, Queensland is proposing a visit to pivotal sites like The Prince Charles Hospital, The Gold Coast, and Cairns, areas affected by natural disasters. The royal pair could also visit Lizard Island, which provides luxury accommodations in a tropical area.

As Queen Camilla Parker and King Charles lll’s traveling date gets closer, one thing’s for sure: this is not just a royal visit, it’s a possibility for tourism and financial benefits. The echoes from previous regal tours in the country certify this notion.
