Netflix’s survival thriller juggernaut, Squid Game, has reportedly completed filming for its highly awaited seasons 2 and 3. Is this a sign of back-to-back releases? The series, originally skyrocketing to fame and topping Netflix charts with its debut in 2021, has maintained high expectations after apparently wrapping up the filming process for two new seasons.

On June 14, reports emerged from the South Korean media outlet OSEN, stating that both seasons had concluded filming after 11 months. While Netflix first denied plans for back-to-back premieres of the series, insiders are now pointing out at a different idea. According to these sources, the decision to film seasons 2 and 3 together was made to split the thriller show into two parts.
“We’re in the final stages of preparing for the release of ‘Squid Game’ Season 2. We can’t provide definitive details about Season 3 yet, the streaming platform assured.”
Squid Game season 2 is expected to have 6 episodes, with season 3 potentially adding 6 to 7 episodes to the saga. The cast for the second installment includes returning names such as Lee Jung Jae, Lee Byung Hun, and Wi Ha Joon and new additions, such as Im Siwan, Kang Ha Neul, Park Gyu Young, Jo Yu Ri, Won Ji An, Park Sung Hoon, Yang Dong Geun, T.O.P, Lee Jin Wook, David Lee, Noh Jae Won, Kang Ae Sim, and Oh Dal Soo.
