According to royal author Ingrid Seward, King Charles III would not be happy to have a ‘FaceTime relationship’ with his grandchildren Archie and Lilibet because, since his cancer diagnosis, he has re-evaluated his priorities and would like to be more present in the lives of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle‘s children.
Seward assures that for King Charles III, the most important thing is family and says, “That is why he will never break ties with Harry. He does not want a FaceTime relationship with his son’s children. He wants to know them and be involved with their lives while they are still young enough to be able to learn from his wisdom“.
It is difficult for the King to see his grandchildren, initially because they live in California, USA, and Harry is also afraid to return to the UK with his family as he currently has no protection to ensure his children will be safe in England despite his royal title.
The personal differences between King Charles III and the Duke of Sussex are interfering with the monarch’s relationship with his grandchildren, as Lilibet, who was born outside the UK, has only seen her grandfather in person once and her older brother Archie only a couple of times, which saddens the king’s heart.
