Although her destiny is practically written as she is the future monarch of Spain and has followed in the footsteps of her father, this is the decision of Princess Leonor about her future that separates her from her parents in terms of academic studies, as everything seems to indicate that the future heiress has different plans.
For his part, King Felipe VI studied law and obtained a Master’s Degree in International Relations from Georgetown University in Washington D. C., and the Queen Letizia enrolled in the Faculty of Information Sciences (Complutense University of Madrid), where she graduated in Information Sciences.
Unlike these two paths chosen by her parents, Princess Leonor has shown her interest in engineering, something completely new in her family, both in comparison with the current monarchs of the European country and her royal descendants.
However, it is not clear which specific engineering field the future monarch will decide to study in the end, but she has plenty of time to think about it since she must first complete her training at the General Military Academy of Zaragoza, then move on to the Navy, and finally to the Air Force.
