King Charles III and Queen Camilla Parker united forces with Emmanuel and Brigitte Macron to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the 1944 D-Day landings in Normandy. Although the celebration was successful, Brigitte Macron might have broken a royal protocol.
During the ceremony, the royal followers praised both Camilla and Macron because they matched their outfits by wearing white dresses. They even walked together to lay wreaths at the memorial, however, all the focus went on Macron’s attempt to hold Camilla’s hand.
Queen Camilla didn’t reciprocate Macron’s warm gesture and stood awkwardly still. Thousands of Netizens started to comment on forums about what could have happened between the two and if Macron broke a royal protocol by trying to take Camilla’s hand without her consent.
It turns out there are no “obligatory codes” that the royal members have to follow when meeting a member of the family, whether you’re the Queen or a Prince. However, the royal followers stated they shouldn’t hold hands with non-royals in public.
