After publicly sharing his opinion on social networks about the memoir book ‘Spare‘, John Lennon‘s son, Sean, received death threats because his comments have been controversial for mocking Prince Harry, the writing of his memoir, and the ‘dramatic’ content.
The musician’s son said, “I’ve had 3–4 death threats since making fun of Harry’s book title and then later saying it was justified because he’s an idiot and that he and I both deserve to be mocked. Yay internet“, in a statement to his followers on the social networking site ‘X’, formerly known as Twitter.
Sean Lennon explained his criticisms and what he really disliked about the book: “I do empathize with him generally, but the way he whines and wangs on about things is really too much. I’m just having a little fun. I think he’s earned some mockery. (I’m sure I have as well)“. However, he did not expect to receive such strong comments.
John Lennon’s youngest son highlighted a message he received: “Mark david chapman should’ve dealt with your father before he had a chance to p*** you out of his womb“. Chapman was the man who murdered John Lennon in 1980, no doubt that was a comment that hurt Sean a lot to read.
