A new family feud has begun in the British royalty, as King Charles III has reportedly threatened to break ties with Prince Andrew if he does not leave the Royal Lodge, where he has lived for about 20 years, to move to his new home at Frogmore Cottage.
An expert and close friend of the monarch told The Times, “Unfortunately, if Andrew refuses to leave within a reasonable timeframe, then the King may be forced to reassess the entire support package he provides and the Duke would have to fund the bulk of his security, accommodation and lifestyle costs himself“.
Andrew currently has no official duties, as he was forced to resign following the Jeffrey Epstein scandal, so his income has greatly diminished, meaning he cannot afford the expenses necessary to maintain the 30-bedroom property where he currently resides with his ex-wife.
The Frogmore Cottage property was lived in by the Sussexes before they moved to the U.S., and many claim it is in perfect condition, as well as being cheaper in terms of staff and security, which would be ideal for the Duke of York; however, a close source said; “Andrew is going nowhere. He has a cast iron lease“.
