David Beckham is stepping up with royal vibes as the new ambassador for King Charles’ charity initiative. The new charity role was announced on June 1, revealing the former soccer star is now involved with The King’s Foundation, a charity originally founded by King Charles in 1990 as the Prince of Wales. His mission? To foster and help communities through education and opportunities.
David Beckham’s commitment to the role was highlighted during his visit to Highgrove Gardens in Gloucestershire, where he met with King Charles and saw the foundation’s educational programs firsthand. Here’s the scoop: The King’s charity helps about 15,000 students through several courses and it even extends to an additional 2,000 people with health and well-being programs.
The former England soccer captain confessed his excitement over the new role, due to his interest in supporting the foundation’s educational initiatives and promoting access to nature for young people. He also shared personal moments from his visit, including a sweet exchange of beekeeping recommendations with King Charles—a hobby they both share.
“I’m excited to be working with The King’s Foundation and to have the opportunity to help raise awareness of the charity’s work. I’ve always been keen to help young people to expand their horizons and I’m particularly looking forward to supporting the Foundation’s education programs and its efforts to ensure young people have greater access to nature.”
