Despite following in his footsteps in the monarchy, in the documentary ‘Prince, Son, and Heir: Charles at 70‘, Prince William explained why he is so different from his father, King Charles III, letting it be known that although he admires his father and the work he has done, when he is monarch, he will do things differently.
“Personally, I want to be my own man and take my own style, my own passions, my own interests, my own way, and do things slightly differently“, said William after explaining the following: “There are so many things that I admire about my father, his work ethic, his passions, all that sort of side of things are absolutely crucial to how he’s been such a successful Prince of Wales and an amazing father“.
William has prepared for each of the positions he will occupy throughout his life, including the title of monarch, so he is very clear about what he wants to do; he even revealed in an interview: “I’m not going to rock the boat when it’s my turn“, and about the management of the duchy, the heir confessed, “I’ll do much the same as my father’s doing, just a few tweaks here and there[…]I’m not so into the architecture, that’s the only thing“.
Although the Prince of Wales plans to complete the objectives that his father did not reach, he has also launched his own project, the ‘Homewards‘ plan, to help the homeless. This could be the biggest work of his mandate, so he is investing a lot of time and money to have a successful outcome.
