As mentioned in Prince Harry‘s memoir, his wife, Meghan Markle, asked Queen Camilla for help and advice in the midst of difficult times, as she was being harshly attacked by the press after her relationship with the youngest son of King Charles III became known in 2017.
“Meg reached out to Camilla, who tried to counsel her by saying this was just what the press always did to newcomers, that it would all pass in due time, that Camilla had been the bad guy once“, Harry reveals in his book ‘Spare’ before confessing that Meghan received another piece of advice from the current queen consort.
Harry wrote in the book, “Camilla also suggested to Meg that I become Governor General of Bermuda, which would solve all our problems by removing us from the red-hot center of the maelstrom“, which for him was part of a strategy of his stepmother, and mentions, “Right, right, I thought, and one added bonus of that plan would be to get us out of the picture“.
Regardless of the reason, Meghan Markle turned to the wife of King Charles III for help, but according to Harry, the advice given to the Duchess of Sussex was malicious and even minimized the situation she was going through as the new member of the family.
