During a recently published interview, RM revealed he ‘wanted to die’ due to the overwhelming pressure of being BTS‘ leader while talking with his groupmate Jimin about his second solo album title, ‘Right Place, Wrong Person‘.
In the video shared on BANGTANTV, the rapper vented about his pressures, saying, “Especially I, in this team, always had to speak righteously, about good things, stand for the team in front of everyone. What people expect of me are speeches, interviews, speaking English, and speaking out as a minority“.
🐨: В. нашей группе я тот, кто говорит о правильных, приятных вещах, я выхожу вперёд, чтобы представлять группу. Это то, что я всегда делаю. это то, что я всегда обычно делаю и люди ожидают от меня, что я буду давать речи и интервью на английском

However, he continued by explaining, “I am just an insignificant 29-year-old Korean man. I guess not a ‘normal’ man but someone who happens to live a slightly different life“, revelating that this is hard work to do, even now being a grown adult with great experience.
Later, he said, “We’ve been through this for 10 years. This pressure. (…) The reason I loved BTS was because it was a music group, but having to care about everyone else’s viewpoints led me to think that, at this rate, I wanted to die“, worrying all his fans.
After his statement, fans went to social networks to show their support with comments such as, “Even just imagining being the leader of BTS brings such a burden“, “I can’t believe he almost thought about dying“, “He gave a speech at the UN at a young age; it must have been incredibly challenging to handle all that as a leader“.
