Prince Harry has faced several challenges since he relocated to the United States with Meghan Markle after they stepped down from their royal duties in the British Monarchy in 2020. The Prince is not famously known for being welcomed in the country, musicians, politicians, and other important figures have shown their discontent towards the Prince’s US residency.
The legendary musician, Don McLean has expressed all of his thoughts towards Prince Harry in a new interview with the Daily Mail. The altercation started because of Prince Harry’s comments about Elvis Presley’s Memphis mansion, describing it as dark and claustrophobic in his memoir, “Spare.”
McLean harshly attacked the Prince for not understanding the culture of the United States despite his immigration in 2020. The musician even attacked the Duke of Sussex for his comments towards the culture and Elvis Presley.
“You don’t criticize America when you’re living here as our guest. He doesn’t understand that Elvis is like the poor man’s king. He came from nowhere and his recordings are among the greatest ever made. Harry doesn’t get America.”
In 2023, McLean also attacked Prince Harry by tweeting that he should shut his mouth about Graceland and Elvis, because of the comments in his memoir, “Spare” about the United States, which surely brought rage among some people of the country.
