Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle have left their California home to start a three-day tour across Nigeria, diving deep into the heart of this culture. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have already kicked off their packed schedule with several activities since yesterday.
Touching down in Nigeria since Friday morning, the former royal couple’s agenda includes promoting the Invictus Games and engaging with local communities, discussing the importance of sports to help people. Also, Prince Harry and Meghan will meet wounded soldiers and visit local charities, as stated by officials from the African nation.
“You’re not the first country to notice that it (sports) not only transforms lives but saves lives. I’m eternally grateful to all of you for joining the Invictus movement for Nigeria and for every single soul who’s been injured protecting the freedoms of Nigeria,” Harry said.
Their official invitation to the country came from Nigeria’s Chief of Defense Staff, Christopher Musa, the highest-ranking military official in that nation. He formally welcomed the former royal pair during a lunch meeting.
