Prince Harry and his wife, the American actress Meghan Markle, had their first son, Prince Archie, in the United Kingdom. However, after renouncing their royal duties at the beginning of 2020, the young boy has been completely away from the public eye. And now, a former correspondent has affirmed that the couple did everything possible to keep their son away from the monarchy.
Michael Cole, a former BBC correspondent, has criticized the way in which the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have done “everything possible” to isolate Prince Archie, who turned 5 years old on May 6th, from the world.
The royal expert affirmed that the marriage could have been seen as “selfish” by having deprived their son of having ties with his royal family, since several rumors have emerged that King Charles III has tried to see him in person, as well as their second baby, Princess Lilibet.
“The Duke and Duchess of Sussex did everything in their power to keep Archie away from the world. That couldn’t be more selfish and reflects Meghan’s position regarding her differences with the royals“, said Cole to GB News.
Previously, it was believed that there was a possibility of Prince Harry traveling to the UK alongside Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. However, that did not materialize, and King Charles III has still not seen his grandchildren in person since 2022, when the Duke and Duchess of Sussex traveled to make their presence at the funeral acts for Queen Elizabeth II.
