Prince Harry and King Charles III’s relationship has improved surprisingly since the King’s cancer diagnosis. Their bond is stronger than everyone thought despite the several mishaps along the way since Harry stepped down from his royal duties in 2020. The unfortunate news brought salvation to their estranged relationship.
The royal expert and commenter, Afua Hagan, confirmed to Newsweek, that the Duke of Sussex and King Charles III’s bond is really strong. Prince Harry flew to the U.K as fast as he found out his father’s diagnosis, which proved they were on good terms despite their previous altercations.
“I think they’re probably further past the conflict than we think they are. There are obviously still issues there and there’s probably still hurt on both sides but like I said health is a great leveler.
Hagan explains King Charles III’s current health status was a major factor in helping Prince Harry and the King develop a healthier relationship, and subsequently the start of reconciliation.
“I think the king’s cancer diagnosis is giving them both an opportunity to draw a line under things that have happened in the past. I don’t necessarily think there’s been a big reckoning and one person’s said ‘I’m wrong, no I’m wrong.’ I think this has just given them a good excuse to just move on.”
Prince Harry is set to land in the United Kingdom on May 8, to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games. Several media outlets have teased the probability of a new meeting between Prince Harry and King Charles III during his visit to his homeland.
